LIMON DI SALERNO MONSTROSO

Volkamer includes many strange and distorted forms of citrus in his books. They would be of no interest to today's commercial citrus grower.
Most of these historical  varieties seem to have been lost, although a few remain in specialist collections, such as the one at the Medici Castello in Florence.

The majority of varieties described by Volkamer were growing in the gardens of the wealthy  Italian aristocracy.
